"A beautifuly packaged 1978 bottling from Glen Garioch. Bottled in July 2009 and one of just 1320 bottles available. An indisputable staff favourite! Yum. Staff Tasting Notes Nose: Fruity, oranges, raspeberries, strawberries (syrupped), strawberry was the most noticeable, strawberry flavouring, strawberry icecream (the fake napoleon style), strawberry hubabubba, cola bottles, quite malty, melon candy and lollipops. With water – Again possibly even more complex, changes to a more herbal, coriander nose, cloudy, floral, grassy, lavender and lilacs all noticed. Palate: White pepper, coriander, hay, dried grass, follows that delicate sweet style similar to the 1990 , icing sugar and cake icing notes, however there is more oak and earth in the older one. Very good stuff, everyone enjoyed this! With water – holds together really well, more herbs, more pepper, marshmallows, lovely balance of herbs and sweetness, with some spice too now, paprika however very feint they are Finish: Salty, dried grass and hay, less of the sweetness but more of the dried older character. Comments: Very impressive body, full thumbs up all around, nicely balanced certainly what i look for in a whisky (Iain)."
